I am an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at International Relations Department of Superior School of Advertising and Marketing (ESPM-Brazil). I hold a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In 2008, I was a Honorary Reserach Associate at University College London. I specialise in China and Latin America societies, where I have been carrying out multisited ethnographic research in the last ten years. The subjects I am interested are: work, social inequalities, capitalism in emergent economies, clientelism and guanxi, informal economy, kinship and migration, legality and illegality, brands, human rights, and globalization. My thesis was recently awarded with the most important prize of Brazilian Social Sciences - the national prize of social sciences thesis.
